What this is

A coding aid for contrived free-operant duration recording — a standard ABA measurement procedure where a child is free to engage with a chosen set of arranged activities, and the observer captures how long each engagement lasts.

Designed for the post-hoc step: you have the session on video, and you need to play it back and quantify engagement.

What it measures

• Total duration per activity
• Frequency — number of engagement bouts per activity
• Per-bout duration with start/end timestamps in video time
• Speed-adjusted playback — watch at 1.25× / 1.5× / 2×; totals reflect real engagement duration

How it works

Each activity is a large tile, split into two tap zones — designed for blind operation while your eyes stay on the video:

+ Left half — toggle

Start or stop this activity. Other running activities continue. Use when behaviors overlap.

▶ Right half — solo

Stop everything else and run only this one. Use when the child cleanly switches.

■ Bottom bar — idle

Stop all activities. Child is doing nothing of interest.

1× Top pill — speed

Cycle 1× → 1.25× → 1.5× → 1.75× → 2×. Splits ongoing bouts so totals stay accurate.

Distinct haptic patterns confirm every action so you don't have to look at the phone.
